Rented homes available – now closed

In January/February 2022, the Lawford Housing Enterprise Trust (LHET) will have available a one-bedroom apartment and a two-bedroom apartment for rent, in Forrester Road, Mistley.

The aim of the LHET is to assist local young people with their aspirations towards independent living and becoming homeowners. We do this by providing good quality homes at affordable rents with a built-in lump sum return after a successful tenancy period.

The available tenancy is for a maximum of five years, in order that the opportunity can be available to other local young people on a rotational basis.

The rent required for the one-bedroom apartment is £420.00 per month. Including the development service charge and £100.00 per month which is returned to the tenant, as a lump sum, on the successful conclusion of their tenancy (therefore the net rent is actually £320.00 per month). This initial rent will be frozen at that rate for the first three years of the tenancy and then subject to review.

The rent required for the two-bedroom apartment is £485.00 per month. Including the development service charges and £100.00 per month which is returned to the tenant, as a lump sum, on the successful conclusion of their tenancy (therefore the net rent is actually £385.00 per month). This initial rent will be frozen at that rate for the first three years of the tenancy and then subject to review.

The rents are set as low as this to allow our tenants to also save towards their own home in the future, whilst living independently in one of our homes.

Applications open from 5.00pm on Friday 17th December 2021 and close at 5.00pm on Sunday 9th January 2022. Applications will only be accepted during this period and online.
